Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, prioritizing actual and potential nursing diagnoses. Implement evidence-based care plans with measurable goals, delegate actions appropriately, and respond to emergency situations with controlled precision. Provide ongoing individualized education to patients and families, maintain safety initiatives, and accurately document all interventions in the electronic medical record. Evaluate care effectiveness continuously, adjust plans based on patient response, and participate in unit-based performance improvement projects and council activities. Mentor peers, precept nursing students, and contribute to professional development initiatives while adhering to Ohio Nurse Practice Act standards.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BSN within 5 years of hire date (for nurses hired after January 2010)
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice
- Membership in professional organizations
- Participation in the professional advancement program
- Participation in chosen professional organizations and conferences
