Job Summary
Develop long-term resource plans, regulatory filings, and compliance reports across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Perform resource planning analysis to evaluate future energy needs, resource adequacy requirements, and potential resource options. Assist with capacity expansion studies, forecasting activities, and planning models used for regulatory and business decision-making. Monitor capacity positions and resource adequacy requirements within the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) footprint. Develop and maintain datasets, assumptions, analytical tools, and planning models used for resource planning and forecasting. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and participate in industry groups and regional planning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, electrical engineering, economics, finance, or a related field
- Knowledge of utility operations, energy markets, resource planning, forecasting, or related analytical functions
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects while meeting deadlines and regulatory filing requirements
- Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, forecasting tools, or modeling software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, regulatory personnel, industry organizations, and external partners
