Job Summary
Maintain a real-time view of Managed Services resource availability, capacity, and utilization across all business units while proactively identifying under- and over-utilization trends. Build and maintain a skills inventory database capturing capabilities for technical, engineering, and operations staff, then partner with project managers to forecast demand four to twelve weeks out. Champion an internal-first staffing philosophy by socializing open project needs to existing employees before external recruitment and actively matching bench-eligible staff to suitable assignments. Act as the primary liaison between delivery teams, people managers, and leadership to communicate resourcing decisions and escalate capacity constraints with proposed solutions. Develop utilization dashboards and reports tracking key metrics like time-to-fill and skill gaps to support headcount planning and budget cycles.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years' experience specifically with Resource Management
- 2 years' experience working in a Managed Services provider environment
- Demonstrated experience managing resources across multiple functions: technical (cloud, infrastructure, software), project management, and operations
- Data-driven mindset with experience building utilization reports and capacity forecasts
- Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills — able to navigate competing priorities across teams
- Ability to handle sensitive workforce conversations with discretion and empathy
- This is a remote role (situated within the Continental US) with associated travel of 5%
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud technology roles and skill sets (Azure, AWS, infrastructure, DevOps, etc.)
- PMI, PMP, or ITIL certification is a plus
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
- Ability to balance short-term project needs with long-term workforce development goals
- Build trust with project leaders, people managers, HR, and executives
- Clearly articulates trade-offs, decisions, and forecasts to varied audiences
- Turn utilization and capacity data into clear, actionable recommendations
