Job Summary
Recruit, screen, and prepare prospective adoptive families while assisting with the adoption application process and approving or disapproving applicants. Consult with other Child Welfare Specialists to identify and prepare foster children for a successful transition to adoptive families. Participate in an on-call rotation and complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program. Travel is extensive; a valid driver's license and required car insurance are mandatory, with state vehicles provided for duties. This role within Oklahoma's largest state agency aims to eliminate barriers to adoption and find permanent families for waiting children.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university
- 3 years of experience related to child welfare work
- A combination of education and experience
- A bachelor's degree (in any field)
- One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- A Master's degree
- A Bachelors Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- Valid driver's license
- Required car insurance
- Must be able to travel extensively
