Job Summary
Resource Family Specialist I/II/III in the ASK Unit helps identify, recruit, and retain kinship families to support children in or at risk of entering the child welfare system. Responsibilities include conducting interviews with parents, child, and relevant family/community members; reviewing case notes and online searches to identify additional kin connections; and expediting kinship placements to keep children connected to important people. Extensive travel is required; duties include training through the Child Welfare Core Academy and ongoing professional development. Compensation varies by level (I–III) with annual salaries and an available additional bonus for on-call duties. The role is part of Oklahoma's civil service with full state employee benefits and requires a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Level I: Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university OR 3 years of experience related to child welfare work OR a combination of education and experience.
- Level II: A bachelor's degree (in any field) OR One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
- Level III: A Master's degree OR a Bachelor's degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist OR two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

- On-call positions may receive additional bonus $75-$100 every two weeks
- Travel is extensive; must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance; state vehicles available
