Job Summary
In a 24/7 shift environment, the Resource Coordinator dispatches resources that respond to electric and gas utility service requests, uses computer aided dispatch applications, and coordinates outage restoration. Responsibilities include communicating with field personnel via radio/phone, using outage management systems and electronic mapping for efficient restoration, completing forms/reports, initiating callouts, and conveying critical information to management and emergency personnel. Requires an Associate Degree (2-year technical degree) and demonstrated ability with CAD/OMS/GIS tools, plus strong written and interpersonal skills. The role involves coordinating 24/7 operations, potential overnight travel in emergency situations, and working rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong emphasis on safety, accuracy in documentation, teamwork, and customer-focused service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Education Requirements: Associate Degree or 2 year technical degree
- Must be available for twenty-four hour callout
- Experience in a co-op or intern program preferred
- Ability to use geographic information systems and schematic diagrams preferred
- Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, Outage Management System, CAD and Automated Callout System) preferred
- Diligence in documentation and data accuracy
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
