Job Summary

Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, troubleshoot equipment, and perform basic maintenance on plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and kitchen systems. Conduct preventive maintenance, inspect tools, and execute surface preparation, painting, and minor drywall repairs while adhering to lockout/tagout safety protocols. Manage maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved programs. Perform landscaping repairs, program TVs, and complete general housekeeping duties. Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following all safety policies, completing required training, and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions. Work rotating day, night, and overnight shifts with weekend availability and on-call requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • one to three month's related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Technical Trade or Vocational School Degree

  • Displays basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building
  • Displays basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes
  • Uses the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work
  • Completes appropriate safety training and certifications
  • Follows Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Uses proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury
  • Maintains proficiency of fire sprinkler and emergency power system and be familiar with the duties and responsibilities of the Fire and Emergency Rescue Teams
  • Moves, lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, and places objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Grasps, turns, manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Enters and locates work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems
  • Reads and visually verifies information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print)
  • Stands, sits, or walks for an extended period or for an entire work shift
