Job Summary
Resort Accountant supporting day-to-day, monthly, and annual accounting operations across multiple properties (Manteo Resort, Hotel Eldorado, Eldorado Yacht Club). Responsibilities include reviewing revenue postings in Opera and Squirrel, preparing daily journal entries, auditing cash drops and variances, reconciling credit card and gift card activity, tracking gratuities and due-back distributions, managing cash floats and petty cash, supporting monthly inventory counts, enforcing SOPs, and providing financial system support to the Marina team. Requires post-secondary accounting/hospitality education, hotel accounting experience, and proficiency with MS Office, PMS (Opera/Fidelio preferred), and POS systems (Squirrel preferred). Strong attention to detail, communication, and ability to work independently or in a team. Perks include extended health and dental benefits and growth opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Hospitality
- Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Working knowledge of accounting software
- 1+ years Hotel Accounting experience
- Credit Card / Gift Card processing and reconciliation knowledge
- PMS software experience (Opera/Fidelio preferred)
- POS Software experience (Squirrel preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet or exceed deadlines
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Independent and team work capability
- Flexible and adaptable to change
