Job Summary
Residential Living Assistant role on Milton Hershey School campus to supervise and mentor high school seniors, helping them build life skills (self-responsibility, goal setting, time management, personal finance, healthy relationships) and providing coverage in student homes as needed. Responsibilities include teaching and role-modeling, planning developmental and recreational activities, attending Sunday chapel services with students, collaborating with staff to enhance the program, and supporting residents in the residential homes. Requires a Bachelor’s degree, valid driver’s license (ability to become certified to drive a 9-passenger van), experience mentoring/teaching/coaching youth, strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, organizational flexibility, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google apps, and social media. Housing and utilities provided; year-round, on-site schedule of 9 consecutive workdays followed by 3 days off; starting salary of $48,799 plus comprehensive benefits, with up to $2,800 relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid driver’s license in good standing; ability to become certified to drive a 9-passenger van
- Experience mentoring, teaching, or coaching youth
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to proactively problem-solve, influence, and collaborate
- Strong organizational skills, while also maintaining a high degree of flexibility
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google applications, and social media platforms
- Must demonstrate integrity and professionalism—MHS staff serve as role models for students

- In this on-campus residential position, occupancy is limited to the employee and, if applicable, their legally married spouse. No other individuals, or pets, may reside in the provided accommodations
- Overnight guests must be pre-approved
- No smoking or weapons permitted
- No alcohol consumption while on duty
