Job Summary
Residential Youth Worker role supporting youth at Penny Lane in Kelowna, BC. You will build trusting relationships with youth, support individualized strength-based plans, create a warm, home-like setting, collaborate with a trauma-informed team, ensure safety and wellbeing, provide behavior management counselling, emotional support, crisis intervention, and coordinate with schools, families, and the community. Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, meals, medication administration, maintaining reports and records, carrying out household duties, accompanying clients to appointments and community outings, and potentially participating in on-call rotations. Qualifications include a Diploma in a related field, two years of related experience (or equivalent), a Class 5 driver’s licence, and successful completion of required screenings including criminal record checks. Hours are 35 per week (Sunday to Thursday, 3pm-11pm) with a rate of $27.54 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in a related human / social service field
- Two (2) years recent related experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Class 5 driver’s licence
- Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a consolidated criminal record check (CCRC) and the Criminal Records Review Act check (CRRA) completed by the HUB
