Job Summary
Residential Youth Support Practitioner providing day-to-day support to children and young people aged 8-17 in a 24/7 residential home. Build trusting relationships, monitor wellbeing, safeguard, and assist with care plans alongside professionals. Deliver effective communication within the home and with external agencies; administer medication as procedures require; participate in meetings and supervision; work fixed shifts including sleep-in duties; funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare supported. 37 hours per week (flexible options), permanent contracts with potential casual shifts, salary around £32,887 per annum plus 15% unsociable hours allowance, pro rata for part-time. DBS checks required; driving licence or mobility solutions may be needed. Applications encouraged even if not all requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to undertake training
- full and current driving licence and access to personal transport or mobility requirements
- ability to work fixed shifts to provide 24/7 coverage
- DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks or police vetting may be required for relevant posts
- Funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Excellent communication and record-keeping
- Attend and participate in team meetings and supervisions
- Please note: sleeping-in duties may be required as part of the role
