Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver for married couples to live in on-campus student homes (Flex Houseparents) at Milton Hershey School. Roles include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Initially nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Relocation to Hershey, PA provided. Benefits include salary per person (approximately $44,768), comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance, retirement options, paid time off, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
