Job Summary
Milton Hershey School is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents who reside on campus in Hershey, PA, to provide care, guidance, supervision, and development-support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule across multiple homes, with potential progression to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person (approx. $46,917) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Both spouses must complete individual applications for consideration. Relocation is required to Hershey, PA, with on-campus housing and meals while on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- High school diploma or GED
