Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver — a full-time, two-person Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes (live-in) and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and a structured, family-like environment for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapels, budgeting and household reporting, and adapting to a nine-on/three-off schedule with a future transition to a placed houseparent. Benefits include salary per person ($46,917), comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off. Qualifications require a high school diploma or GED, experience with youth, a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and the ability to engage in faith-based activities in a Judeo-Christian campus setting. Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years, be at least 27 years old, and complete individual applications for consideration. Relocation to Hershey, PA and on-campus housing are included as part of the role.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Desire to lead students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Planned to transition to Placed Houseparent in same student home
- Comfort with daily supervision, routines, and student scheduling
- Proficiency with budgeting and household reporting
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
- Willingness to reside on campus with students
- Capacity to drive students to activities
- Ability to meet physical requirements (lift 50 lbs)
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Ability to pass background checks and safety trainings
- Willingness to adhere to school policies on housing and meals
