Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes in Salamanca, NY, caring for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning over time to a Placed Houseparent with the same group of students. This role requires a legally married couple (two-person team) with relocation to the school, and includes paid relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits. The position emphasizes creating a structured, family-like environment that supports students’ academic, emotional, and social development and requires a high level of commitment from both spouses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
