Job Summary
Two-person married couple required to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School, residing on campus to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and maintaining a structured, family-like home environment. Work schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a consistent student home as a Placed Houseparent.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to be role models for students
- Capable of driving student vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
