Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents will reside on Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA to supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, transport students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition from nine-days-on/three-days-off duties to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group; primary responsibilities include creating a structured, family-like living environment and supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-year marriage minimum for both spouses
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA (on-campus housing)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
