Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents for Milton Hershey School, residing on campus to supervise, mentor, and support groups of approximately 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, medication administration, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, and providing consistent structure and care. Schedule initially involves nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; later transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person of $46,917 (approx. $180,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for married couple
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Willing to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Chapel services
