Job Summary
Two-person married couple needed for Full-time Flex Houseparent roles on Milton Hershey School’s campus in Hershey, PA. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship of 8–13 students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and paid training provided; compensation is $44,768 per person annually (approx. $168,000 total per couple when including housing and benefits). For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-year marriage minimum for both spouses
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
