Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School to supervise and guide groups of approximately 8–13 students in their on-campus homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from Flex to Placed Houseparent with the same group of students. The role requires experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and alcohol-free campus. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; compensation is $44,768 per person with total couple compensation around $168,000.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Committed to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two-person role for married couples (at least two years married)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to serve as role models for students
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married couples
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
