Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver role for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Two-person Flex Houseparent positions reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, and support for groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and progressing to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Requires full-time commitment, on-campus housing, relocation to Hershey, PA, and a background in work or volunteering with youth. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive health insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, and paid training. Both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse collaboration required (both spouses must apply)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian chapel services
- Experience with youth (volunteer or work)
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children in the home
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Placement into Placed Houseparent after initial period
- Relocation to Hershey, PA; full-time role with on-campus housing
- Full-time schedule with nine days on, three days off
