Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live in an on-campus student home at Milton Hershey School, supervising and mentoring a group of approximately 813 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Requires experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a two-year married-couple eligibility, with both spouses completing separate applications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA for relocated role
