Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. They supervise daily routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and chapel, and oversee budgeting and reporting for the household. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Houseparent living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement and paid time off. This is a two-person role for legally married couples, with both spouses required to complete individual applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
