Job Summary
Milton Hershey School is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents to reside in on-campus student homes and care for ~8–13 students; duties include supervision, mentorship, managing routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, with an initial nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule and eventual placement in a single student home. The role requires a legally married two-person team (both spouses 27+), valid U.S. driver’s license, high school diploma/GED, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and experience with youth, among other campus policies; relocation assistance and paid training are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Desire to relocate to Hershey, PA (on-campus housing provided)
- Ability to complete individual employment applications independently
