Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver roles for married couples residence in on-campus student homes, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring youth, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions, accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from Flex Houseparents to Placed Houseparents. Requires readiness for nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, relocation to Hershey, PA, and full-time commitment with benefits including health coverage, retirement options, paid time off, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for married couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
