Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of 8–13 students in on-campus homes. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, managing household schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Couples reside in student homes, follow a nine-on/three-off duty schedule, and may transition to a placed Houseparent role once established. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lead students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort with Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
