Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on Milton Hershey School campus in a student home, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off to the placed houseparent arrangement. Benefits include salary per person around $46,917 with total compensation for a couple near $180,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, and training. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA or reside on campus as a houseparent
- Ability to be certified to drive student home vans
