Job Summary
Two-person, Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside on campus in an on-site student home serving 8–13 students. The role includes daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a consistent student-home assignment. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total couple compensation around $168,000, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet restrictions as stated
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
