Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and supporting multiple student homes before transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. The position offers relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pro-despite Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to be trained to drive student home vans
