Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver for Milton Hershey School. A two-person, married-couple role living on campus in student homes, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading development and recreational activities, conducting daily devotions and Sunday Chapel attendance, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent. Requires experience with youth, ability to lift 50 lbs, valid U.S. driver’s license, and commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus. Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years and be at least 27 years old. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; compensation and benefits are provided, including relocation assistance and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
