Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School, supervising and guiding a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a pathway to a Placed Houseparent position living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
Additional Requirements
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
