Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver role for a two-person, married couple living on-campus at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines, administering medications, driving to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Initially, couples work nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent living in the same student home. Salary $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 per couple with benefits and housing), relocation assistance provided, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off. Qualifications include experience with youth, two-year marriage minimum, both spouses 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort leading religious activities; must complete individual applications. This is a full-time, on-campus caregiving/houseparent position requiring residency on campus and contribution to a family-like, structured living environment for students.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse requirement with both spouses applying
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking; ability to supervise and mentor youths
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Proficiency in leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Chapel services
