Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus at Milton Hershey School to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students in student homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, conducting daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role with a consistent home for the same group of students. Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. The position is for married couples who are legally married for at least two years, with both spouses aged 27 or older, and relocation assistance is provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
