Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents live on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey/Plymouth, PA, providing care, supervision, and guidance for a group of 8–13 students in student homes. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmentally appropriate activities and devotions, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with a future transition to a placed houseparent in the same student home. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a strong commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-spouse/dual-applicant requirement for consideration
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Two years of marriage minimum for both spouses
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Ability to manage household routines and student schedules
- Medication administration
- Driving and activity planning with students
- Budgeting and reporting responsibilities
- Relocation assistance accepted
