Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents reside on Milton Hershey School’s on-campus student homes to care for groups of 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and support. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Benefits include salary per person around $46,917 (roughly $180,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a drug- and alcohol-free campus
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Passion for Judeo-Christian chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
