Job Summary
Two-person, married couple role as Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. They reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as the same student home Houseparent. Benefits include salary per person and relocation assistance; comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits; paid time off; and training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year marriage required for couples
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proselytizing prohibited in duties
- Relocation to Hershey, PA and on-campus housing provided
- Two-person role for couples
- Experience with youth preferred
- Volunteer or work with youth experience acceptable
- On-campus housing and meals provided while on duty
