Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA, and eventually in the same student home as a placed Houseparent. They provide daily supervision, mentorship, and supervision of household routines and student schedules for 8–13 students, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and chapel, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. The role is a two-person couple position requiring both spouses to apply individually; schedule initially involves nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a single student home. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Additional Requirements
- Must be a legally married couple
- Houseparents must reside on-campus
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
