Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couples) reside on-campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 813 students living in the home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications and ensuring student wellness, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition into a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students in their own home. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of legally married status
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- No alcohol permitted while on duty; smoke-free campus
- Proven integrity and professionalism
- Willingness to reside on-campus with students
- Capability to lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Ability to follow a schedule (nine consecutive days on, three days off)
- First aid/medication administration experience or training preferred
- Proficiency in budgeting and household reporting
