Job Summary
Residential Houseparents (two-person, married-couple role) at Milton Hershey School, living in on-campus student homes and providing care, supervision, and guidance for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The position starts with a nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students in their own home. Benefits include salary per person, relocation assistance, comprehensive health benefits, retirement savings, paid time off, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
