Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver role for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes, supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions, supervise budgeting and reporting, and transition from Flex Houseparent to Placed Houseparent. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; includes on-campus housing and full benefits. Requires both spouses to complete individual employment applications, must be legally married for at least two years, and both spouses be 27 or older. On relocation, relocation assistance is provided. Qualifications include youth experience, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and comfort with devotional and chapel activities.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Two-person couple must apply (both spouses)
- Two spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- No more than three dependent children in home
- Relocation to Hershey, PA
- Experience with youth (direct or volunteer)
- Complete individual employment applications for both spouses
