Job Summary
Residential Youth Caregiver — Full-time Flex Houseparents living on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. A two-person, married-couple role that provides daily supervision, mentorship, medical support, transportation, and activities planning for a group of roughly 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, guiding daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Initially, couples work a nine-on/three-off schedule, then transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation around $168,000 per couple, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, PTO, and training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
