Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a cohort of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule to a placed houseparent arrangement with the same student group. This role requires a legally married couple (both spouses) with at least two years of marriage, both aged 27+, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The position offers relocation assistance, paid training, and comprehensive benefits, with salary of $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total compensation per couple). Relocation assistance and full benefits are provided; housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more are included in total compensation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. drivers license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Two years of marriage (married for at least two years)
- Age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to be role models for students
- Willingness to complete individual employment applications (two-person role)
