Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) at Milton Hershey School, living on campus in an on-site student home in Amsterdam, NY, to supervise and mentor 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; relocation assistance and paid training provided; compensation is $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse/2-person role must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA or reside on campus
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
