Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School to reside in on-campus student homes and care for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine days on / three days off toward a placed houseparent arrangement. Requires experience working or volunteering with youth; high school diploma or GED; valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfort leading devotions; adherence to campus policies (smoke-free, weapon-free, no alcohol on duty); and being part of a legally married two-spouse team aged 27+ with living arrangement on campus. relocation assistance is provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA (relocation assistance provided)
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
