Job Summary
Two-person full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School: couples reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Schedule initially consists of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. Includes relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits; salary approximately $46,917 per person (~$180,000 total per couple). Requires on-campus living, commitment to safety policies, and completion of individual employment applications by both spouses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-year married status (both spouses)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Ability to reside on-campus in student homes with supervision duties
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
