Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, providing care, mentorship, supervision, and support for a group of about 813 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off cycle and later transitions to a placed houseparent arrangement living with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive benefits, and relocation assistance with paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two spouses, legally married for at least two years, both aged 27 or older
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
