Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on campus in student homes and, as a two-person married couple, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for about 813 students. They manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, and will transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required, with benefits including salary per person, comprehensive benefits, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; staff serve as role models
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Relocation assistance provided
- On-campus housing and meals while on duty included
- Written and oral communication skills for budgeting and reporting
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive student home vans
