Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in residential homes and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene, organization, and time management. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management to foster responsibility, resilience, and respect. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support academic, social, and emotional needs. Respond calmly to crisis or conflict situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure safety. Document relevant student observations or incidents and participate in family-style mealtimes and extracurricular opportunities. Manage irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays consistent with the residential school schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity

- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
