Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Conduct daily care, guidance, and structure for a diverse group of school-age children and adolescents within a residential home environment. Model positive behavior, support students with homework and routines, and coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes. Actively build trusting relationships, offer mentorship, and use positive behavior management techniques to help students develop responsibility, resilience, and respect. Supervise students during on- and off-campus activities, maintain a structured environment, reinforce school policies, and document relevant observations or incidents. Participate in family-style mealtimes, support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene and organization, and encourage involvement in extracurricular and enrichment opportunities. Respond calmly to crisis or conflict situations using de-escalation strategies and follow school protocols to ensure student safety. Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support each student's academic, social, and emotional needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds

- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
