Residential Youth Caregiver

Job Summary
Supervise students in residential homes and during on- and off-campus activities while maintaining a structured, predictable environment. Coordinate daily schedules including meals, chores, activities, and bedtimes, and support life-skills learning such as personal hygiene, organization, and time management. Build trusting relationships through mentorship and positive behavior management to foster responsibility, resilience, and respect. Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to identify and support academic, social, and emotional needs, and document relevant student observations or incidents. Respond calmly to crisis or conflict situations using de-escalation strategies and school protocols to ensure safety. Participate in family-style mealtimes and encourage involvement in extracurricular, community service, and enrichment opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working with youth in residential care, education, counseling, social services, or related community programs
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification shortly after hire
- Strong communication skills
- Patience
- Ability to work with children and teens from varied backgrounds
- Cultural sensitivity

- Flexibility to manage irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in human services, psychology, education, or a related field
